SEAMEO QITEP in Science collaborated with the Office of Education Quality Assurance of Bali Province, conducted the Training of Inquiry-Based Learning from 19 – 21 November 2014 in Denpasar Bali. There were 160 elementary school teachers from all districs in Bali Province participated in the training. The aim of the training was to strengthen teachers’ knowledge in implementing the inquiry-based learning.
Dr. I Made Alit Mariana, the Head of Education Quality Assurance Office of Bali Province, opened the training officially. The training activity consisted of four classes facilitated by Mr Arief Sidharta, Ms Lidiya Sinulingga, Mr Kandi, Ms Tati Setiawati and Ms Eka Danti Agustiani.
One of the topics were about inquiry model which aims to give the participants experience, understanding and ideas on how to implement inquiry learning in their own class. There were also a peer-teaching session to evaluate the participants’ understanding about the inquiry-based learning by simulating teaching on certain science topics.
