Newsletter No. 1 Vol. 6 Year 2015

Dear Readers,

All praise to God almighty, the Centre successfully releases the newsletter volume no. 6 year 2015. This edition reports the Centre’s programmes conducted from March to December 2014. The programmes cover training courses for science teachers, workshops, conferences, and other activities. The Centre also maintains collaboration with educational institutions in Southeast Asia and beyond.
One of the important agenda highlighted in this issue is the approval of the Second Five-Year Development Plan (FYDP) during the Fifth Governing Board Meeting in Solo, Indonesia. Therefore the Centre shall use its Second FYDP as guidelines in conducting its programmes and activities.
This edition also reports the Centre’s collaboration with ISTIC and LAMAP foundation in conducting the Training Workshop on Inquiry-Based Science Education. Beside continuing the established collaboration, the Centre also initiates partnership with SEAMEO BIOTROP, SEAMEO SEAMOLEC, SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics and SEAMEO RETRAC in conducting several activities including regular trainings, in-country trainings, and collaborative trainings.
These series of activities and programmes hopefully will improve the competencies of Southeast Asia’s science teachers and education personnel resulting in a student population that is more cognisant of crucial sustainable development with minimal environmental impact in the advancement of the region as a whole.

Enjoy the volume!
