The Ki Hajar Dewantara Award Innauguration in the 39th SEAMEO High Officials Meeting


The Ki Hajar Dewantara Award is the initiative of the SEAMEO QITEP in Science to honour and appreciate science teachers who have dedicated their lives and efforts to bring science teaching and learning processes up to the excellent level.

After tight selection by the board of jurors, Mrs Lee Saw Im, the chemistry teacher from SMA Seri Bintang Utara, Malaysia has been chosen as the best science teacher in the Southeast Asian region who was then awarded the Ki Hajar Dewantara Award.  She received the Ki Hajar Dewantara Plague, Certificate, and USD 5000 professional development fund.

The innaguration of the award was conducted in the 39th SEAMEO High Officials Meeting convened at the Amari Watergate Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, on 5-17 November 2016.

It was the very first award innaugurated in the high official meeting which was also the pioneer programme in the history of SEAMEO.
