A good notice of SEAQIS’ Training for Head of Science Laboratory in Kerinci Regency

To improve the quality of science education in Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province, SEAQIS cooperated with the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Kerinci Regency to provide training for Head of Science Laboratory. The first stage of the In-Service activity, was held from 13 to 18 December 2017 in Sungai Penuh City, Jambi. The training was attended by 22 teachers who were considered as prospective heads of science laboratories. The delegates from SEAQIS for the event were Drs Arief Sidharta, M.Pd, Ms Eka Danti Agustiani, M.Si, Mr Lukman Nulhakim, M.Pd, and Mr Dian Purnama, S.Si., led by the Director of SEAQIS, Prof Dr Triyanta. Before the training begun, Prof Triyanta and Mr Hardiman, S.Ag (Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Kerinci Regency) signed the MoU underlying the cooperation of the Training for Head of Science Laboratory Candidates in Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Madrasah Aliyah of Kerinci Regency for the 1st Stage of In-Service Training, On the Job Learning until the 2nd Stage of In-Service Learning. This training’s activities were recognised by the Jambi Provincial Office of Ministry of Religious Affairs and fully supported by the Administrative Board of the Head of Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Aliyah (KKMTs and KKMA) of Kerinci Regency.

In addition to equip the trainees with a variety of compulsory materials and On the Job Learning procedures, SEAQIS also provided various examples of science practices using simple tools and materials as an alternative to strengthening the science concepts without requiring specialised laboratory condition. All parties involved in this activity (SEAQIS, Ministry of Religious Affairs of Kerinci Regency, SEAQIS, KKMTs / KKMA as well as training participants) expected that the cooperation can expand its scope not only in the conduct of the Training for Head of Science Laboratory, but also in the conduct of various other activities related to the quality improvement of educators and education personnel in science.
