Education Programme (SEA-CEP) 2024: Phase-1, organised by SEAQIS at the Grand Tjokro Premiere Hotel, Bandung, concluded with remarkable success. Running from 28 April to 4 May 2024, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">30 participants, consisting of principals and science teachers at secondary schools from different regions in<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Indonesia, gathered for this transformative programme.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ms Dewi Mayang, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">SEA-CEP Chief Executive<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, emphasised in her opening remarks the significance of this programme as the beginning of a long-term collaboration among Indonesian schools to strengthen climate change education. Mr Zuhe Safitra, Acting Director of SEAQIS, also welcomed the participants by expressing his anticipation for them to become agents of change by disseminating the knowledge within their communities.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Led by expert facilitators, the training sessions encompassed pivotal discussions, including Climate Change Policy as well as Sustainable Development and Climate Change. Additionally, participants also had the opportunity to visit SMPN 2 Tanjungsari in Sumedang Regency, a school that has embraced a climate resilient school programme. Ms Helsy Elselia, serving as a facilitator, shared insights on the school&#8217;s diverse and successful programmes, such as BAPICA (bring your own eating utensils), eco-bricks, bioreactors, infiltration wells, hydroponic and aquaponic systems, etc. Participants were also given the chance to explore the school and directly observe the implementation of these programmes in action.
