Training on Inquiry-Based Science Learning (IBSL)
Banda Aceh, 25 – 30 August 2013
In collaboration with Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) and Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Nangroe Aceh Darussalam, SEAMEO QITEP in Science organizes training on Inquiry-Based Science Learning (IBSL) participated by 28 junior high school science teachers of Nangroe Aceh Darussalam Province and 2 lectures from Unsyiah. The training was initiated by MoU agreement signing between the three institutions. The purpose is to give basic overview about the principles of inquiry learning also to offer alternative model of science learning in class based on scientific approach. This IBSL training takes place in the Centre of Quality Improvement of Teacher (PPMG) Banda Aceh from 25 – 30 August 2013. There are 7 topics covered such as Effective Questioning, Inquiry-Based Hands-On Activities, Evaluation on Inquiry-Based Class, including Peer Teaching session. It is expected that after the training all participant could implement the inquiry approach to nurture student engagement and thus enhance student motivation in science learning.
