To improve the quality of science education in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, SEAQIS is going to conduct in-country training in this country later this year. To discuss the program Director of SEAQIS, Prof Ismunandar and Deputy of Program, Dr R Indarjani, visited the Embassy of Myanmar in Jakarta on 9 June 2014. The delegation was received by H. E. San Myint Oo, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Myanmar. During the visit, the Director explained the programs of SEAQIS in 2014, discussed the participation of the Myanmar Ministry of Education in various SEAQIS programs conducted so far, and the intention to conduct the in-country training for Myanmar science teachers under the resource sharing system. The meeting was very successful and the Embassy staff enthusiastically support the SEAQIS programs and are willing to communicate directly with the Ministry of Education in Myanmar to accelerate the program.
