One of the Centre effort to enhance staff competence is by Capacity Building. In line with that, on 13 – 17 May 2013, one of QITEP in Science staff, Mr. Apep Nurjaman, joined the Digital Magazine Development Workshop, which was held by Southeast Asian Minister of Education Organization Regional Open Learning Centre (SEAMOLEC). The workshop was mainly attended by vocational senior high school teachers from many provinces in Indonesia. The purpose of the workshop was to give teacher knowledge on how to manage information through digital magazine.
The materials shared in the workshop were Introduction to Jurnalism, Introduction of International Standard Serial Number (ISSN), Creative Commons & Overview Progress of Article Writing, Simple Steps of Writing Articles in English, Introduction and Practices of Scribus, Inkscape, GIMP, Software Instalation and Online-Offline Flipbook. There was also a tour to Indonesian Museum, Keong Mas Theatre and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah to give opportunities for participants to have materials for practicing in writing articles.
By having its staff in this workshop, it is expected that QITEP in Science will increase the capacity to share information and knowledge through digital media.
