Center Director Meeting 2013

The SEAMEO Centre Directors Meeting (CDM) 2013 was held on 1-3 July 2013 in Marriot Hotel Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand. It was attended by 91 participants which comprising of 20 SEAMEO Centers as well as representatives from Affiliate and Associate Members. From SEAMEO Qitep in Science, Director, Prof. Ismunandar, and Deputy Director for Program, Dr. Indarjani, attended the meeting. CDM is a SEAMEO forum for reporting the center achievement, networking development, sharing opportunities, exchange the ideas and find a best practice management with other centers and parties. In this CD Meeting, the Director reported the major accomplishment of the Center, while Dr. Indarjani presented the proposal of the center that was Ki Hadjar Dewantara Award  for the best regional science teachers.  During networking session,  the SEAMEO Qitep in Science has continued and created some collaborations, such as  with MEXT-Japan in regard to Expert Dispatch Programs, University of Tsukuba for implementation of  e-text book , Asean-China Centres (ACC) as one of partner in 6^th  China-Asean Education Cooperation Week,  and Save the Children Foundation to address the issues in Disaster Risk Reduction particularly Safe Schools Program. The meeting  also discuss 50^th anniversary of SEAMEO or Golden Jubilee which will be held on 2015. In conjunction with  the CDM, there was a  workshop on Strategic  Perspective in Advancing Evaluation Practice in SEAMEO on 4 July 2014. It can be seen that the meeting was relatively successful and fruitful for the future of center development.
