Following the Timor-Leste Attaché of Education for the Republic of Indonesia MrAgostinho Almeida Femandes’ visit in late March, itsVice Minister of Education Mrs DulceDe Jesus Soares,accompanied by MrFemandes, visitedSEAMEO QITEP in Science staff during their 2014 Program Development Workshop in Lembang on April 16.
Some suggestions put forward by the Vice Minister included Timor-Lestescience teachers participating in QITEP programs, and QITEP conducting resource sharing training in Timor-Leste. Due to itsupcoming new curriculumin 2015, the Timor-Leste Education Ministry alsosees opportunities to invite stafffrom the Centre to share their knowledge and expertise.
During the visit, the Timor-Leste Vice Minister of Education expressed her confidence that her country’s science teachers will benefit greatly from the Centre’s programs, and that its education community from now on will be more engaged with SEAMEO activities.
