SEAQIS conducted its 5th Governing Board Meeting from 22 – 25 September 2014 in Solo,Central Java, Indonesia. It was held concurrently with the Governing Board Meeting of SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics. At the opening ceremony, students of SMA 7 Solo sang the SEAMEO song. The eight Governing Board Members in attendance were from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Timor Leste. It was Timor Leste’s first involvement in the Centre’s Governing Board Meeting since its establishment in 2009. Also in attendance at the meeting was the Deputy Director for Program and Development of SEAMEO Secretariat, Prof Handoko, observers, and officials from SEAQIS’ host institution, the Centre for Development and Empowerment for Teachers and Education Personnel (CDETEP) in Science.
The meeting discussed and decided the outcome of 17 WorkingPapers of the Centre’s program and activities andsuccessfully completed the proceedings of the GB Meeting.
