In celebrating the 50th anniversary, SEAMEO BIOTROP located in Bogor City held a badminton championship among the SEAMEO CENTERS in Indonesia. The event was held on June 25-26 at GOR Sukasari, Bogor.The event participated by Semeo Centers in Indonesia, except SEAQIM.
The event was initiated with a coaching clinic by former National Badminton player, Tri Kusharjanto, an Olympic silver medallist. SEAQIS team finally came out as the champion after beating SEAMOLEC in the final. BIOTROP and SEAQIL took the third place after their success to reach the semi-final. SEAQIS was also awarded the best team in the tournament after their players claimed the first and the second position women’s doubles discipline.
As a result, SEAQIS will host the next tournament which also fall on the 10th anniversary of the Centre. The event is hoped to be the part of the promotion of SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia.
