Dr Indrawati as the Director of SEAQIS was invited to attend a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) on 7 June 2023 with PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) at BBGP Jawa Barat. Several representatives from Institut Pertanian Bogor, SITH Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Padjadjaran, Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya, and Universitas Borneo Tarakan also participated in the event. This event was a follow-up discussion regarding the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes of PT PKN in the field of education in Tarakan City and Bulungan Regency.
To open the event, Dr Gatot Hari Priowirjanto as the Coordinator of SEA ICC (SEAMEO Inter-Centre Collaboration) gave his welcoming remarks. Mr. Tria Suprajeni as the Director of PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara also gave his welcoming remarks highlighting the integration between CSR programmes and MBKM. After that, the representatives of PT PKN illustrated their future plans, including their project calendar until 2025. To conclude the opening ceremony, PT PKN and UGM signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) to officiate their collaboration.
After the opening ceremony, the participants were distributed into small groups to discuss their plans for the collaboration. Each group then presented their ideas to the forum ranging from farming, cocoa and citronella grass plantation, forestry, and fishery. Meanwhile, SEAQIS’ role in this collaboration is to provide training for teachers around the targeted areas of PT PKN.
