On 16 January 2024, SEAQIS visited the Indonesian School of Bangkok to discuss a potential collaboration between SEAQIS and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bangkok. The visit was warmly welcomed by His Excellency, the Education and Culture Attaché, Ir Achmad Wicaksono, PhD. Representing SEAQIS, Mr Rizwan Darmawan (Head of Human Resources and General Affairs Division) proposed collaboration to conduct training to enhance the capacity of teachers at the Indonesian School of Bangkok in implementing STEM learning.
The Education and Culture Attaché emphasised that the improvement of the quality of teachers and education personnel was one of the Embassy’s priorities to create enjoyable learning activities that could enhance students’ problem-solving abilities. During the discussion, he also suggested including Thai teachers from partner schools of the Indonesian School of Bangkok in the training, as part of the Embassy’s contribution to enhance the quality of education in Thailand.
At the end of the discussion, both SEAQIS and the Embassy expressed an expectation to realise this collaboration, not only through the proposed training but also through various programmes designed by SEAQIS for teachers and education personnel in Southeast Asia.
