SEAQIS successfully held a Workshop on the Development of a Model Framework for the Use and Integration of AI Tools in Teaching and Learning from 27 to 28 May 2025. This event marks an initial step in preparing AI-based learning approaches for lower secondary school teachers, while also designing effective classroom implementation strategies.
The workshop produced several strategic action plans, including the development of a research proposal that will explore the use of tools such as Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Google Lens in STEM and climate change education. Participants, consisting of SEAQIS academic teams and representatives from the SEAMEO SEAMOLEC academic team, developed a technical framework to integrate AI into the curriculum.
Collaboration with SEAMEO SEAMOLEC played a key role in this initiative, with SEAMOLEC contributing to the development of digital platforms and providing research support related to the effectiveness of AI in education. SEAQIS and SEAMEO SEAMOLEC also agreed to conduct collaborative research to assess the impact of AI implementation on students’ learning quality.
Through this initiative, SEAQIS and SEAMEO SEAMOLEC are committed to strengthening the role of teachers as drivers of educational innovation in the digital era. The outcomes of the workshop and the upcoming training plans will serve as a guide for educators to utilise AI effectively, creating more interactive and relevant learning experiences that meet 21st-century challenges.
