To compare respective organisation practices and performance levels and to make improvements in efficiency and effectiveness, SEAMEO QITEP in Science’s Head of Research and Development Division, Mrs Eka Danti Agustiani, and Dian Indriany from Partnership and Marketing Division, benchmarked SEAMEO QITEP in Science to SEAMEO RECSAM (Regional Centre for Education in Science and Mathematics) in Penang, Malaysia. This benchmarking process occurred when the two staff were participating in a RECSAM Regular Course in on May 26 2014.
The QITEP in Science staff met with Dr Daniel Leong Chi Kin, the RECSAM Deputy Director of Training Program. A discussion with Dr Suhaidar Tahir, Deputy Director of Research and Development Division and Bhavani Ramasamy, Programme Officer of Research and Development Division followed. The purpose of these meetings was to identify and discuss job descriptions, work targets, and program and research management.
The RECSAM staff facilitated all activities and were extremely helpful. It is expected that the cooperation between the two centres will be enriched because of this benchmarking session and hopefully it will bring benefits to both centres in the future.
