“Digital Transformation of Science Learning Innovation”
SEAMEO QITEP in Science (SEAQIS), one of the 7 SEAMEO Centres and under the Secretariat General of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture, has a mandate to improve the quality of education through the improvement of the educator’s competency and science education staff. One way to improve the competency is to encourage teacher to make scientific publication as a part of professional development.
This is emphasized through the mandate given by the third and fourth Governing Board Meeting (GBM) at 2012 and 2013 respectively. It is said that SEAQIS is recommended to conduct researches. Therefore, SEAQIS, through Research & development and IBSE capacity building division, attempt to conduct researches either independent or collaboration with other parties and encourage the educator and educational personnel to conduct research activities.
Since 2015, SEAQIS encourages educator and educational personnel to conduct research activities through SEAQIS Research Grants (SRG). This research activity is focused on educational research which implements the Inquiry-Based Science learning in accordance to the main activity/niche from SEAQIS which is stated on 3rd Five Years Development Programme 2020/2021 – 2024/2025. On 2021, SEAQIS implemented its flagship program, which is SEAQIS Research Grants 2021 as an effort to encourage the research practice among teachers.
