PRAISE : Promoting Real Australian Indonesian Science Education

In 7 – 13 April 2013 four SEAMEO QITEP in Science staffs; Dr. Maman Wijaya (Deputy Director for Administration), Reza Setiawan (Head Division of Training Program), Kandi (Head Division of ICT) and Eka Danti Agustiani (Head Division of Partnership and Collaboration), visited the Australian Academy of Science (AAS) to work with the Science by Doing team in Canberra, Australia.

Their visit is part of a collaborative Indonesian-Australian pilot project named Promoting Real Australian Indonesian Science Education (PRAISE), which is funded by the Australian Government and Indonesian Government.

The Indonesian team is developing a science curriculum unit for Indonesian science teachers and students. The Academy representatives, led by the Science by Doing Executive Director, Professor Denis Goodrum was sharing their knowledge and experiences gained developing Science by Doing program in Australia.

Later in year, two members of Science by Doing team will travel to Indonesia to assist with an implementation workshop for Indonesian teachers involved in the trial of the curriculum unit.
