Introduction
The sixth China-Asean Education Cooperation Week was conducted from 15 to 19 September 2013 in Guizhou Normal University, Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China . Ms Atik Rahmawati representing SEAMEO Regional Centre for QITEP in Science attended the program that was sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, P.R China, The Ministry of Education, P.R China and the People’s Government of Guizhou Province. The purpose of this activity was to follow up the common understating reached in the previous five China-Asean Education Cooperation Weeks, and to expand cooperation in education and culture between China and ASEAN countries.
Several SEAMEO Centres and universities throughout South East Asia countries were invited to attend the symposium. The agenda was keynote speeches from Tianjin Research Institute of Science Education, Research Institute of Education of Xiamen University, Guizhou Normal University, SEAMEO Centres’ delegates, and Southeast Asia distinguish universities. Other agenda was a round-table conference of China-ASEAN Education and Talents Sustainable Development Symposium
The China-ASEAN education cooperation week has been successively held since 2008 in Guizhou Province every year and become an important platform to strengthen friendly and practical cooperation between China and ASEAN. It is hoped that through this kind of involvement, SEAMEO Regional Centre for QITEP in Science would expand its cooperation in education and culture not only within and among ASEAN countries, but also to other Asia countries.
