Workshop on Inquiry-Based Science Education: STELR Renewable Energy

SEAMEO QITEP in Science has conducted 1-day workshop titled Inquiry-Based Science Education: STELR Renewable Energy that was held on 24th October 2013 in the Centre. The workshop was lead by 2 resource person, Dr. Peter Pentland the Project Manager of Science and Technology Education Leveraging Relevance (STELR), and Dr. Gregory Smith, Senior Lecturer from Charles Darwin University and participated by 21 local secondary level science teachers of Bandung area, West Java. The aim of the workshop was to introduce the participants to inquiry science learning with the use of Science and Technology Education Leveraging Relevance (STELR) science learning module. It was expected that by using this STELR module in science learning in the class, especially in the theme of global warming and renewable energy, students could draw relevance from what they have learnt in their science class to their surrounding and also have fun while learning science.
