Representatives of six Indonesian SEAMEO centres attended the Inter-Centre Collaboration Meeting hosted by SEAMEO QITEP in Science from May 6 – 8 2014 at Maja House, Bandung. Each centre’s Director and Deputy Director acted as resource providers, except the Director of SEAMEO SEAMOLEC who was unable to join the meeting.
The centres agreed to designate SEAMEO RECFON as team leader in formulating collaborative strategic plans (Renstra). Several inter-centre 2014 activities and the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of SEAMEO were discussed. The centres proposed numerous suggestions for the celebration, one of which is a book comprising information about all the SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia and their contribution to education in the SE Asian region. Attendees also discussed budget implementation strategies and the submission of government officer formation which has been proposed to the SEAMEO Secretariat.
The workshop was extremely fruitful and all discussions were lively and stimulating. As SEAMEO approaches its 50th year, all six centres expressed their satisfaction and pride about their achievements, and their excitement for future possibilities to contribute to the Indonesian and wider SE Asian science education community.
