Training on Effective Supervisory Leadership at SEAMEO BIOTROP

To enhance staff capacity building, QITEP in Science sent two staff members, Ms Gena Aghnia Fadhilah and Mr Muchamad Firman Sujana to participate in the Training on Effective Supervisory Leadership at SEAMEO BIOTROP, Bogor, Indonesia. The course was held for two days from 15 -16 December 2014 and attended by participants from five SEAMEO Centres.

The purposes of this training were to understand the importance and role of supervision and leadership for increasing staff performance and achieving organizational goals, to assess their strengths and weaknesses against the qualities of a true and effective leader, to distinguish among the various supervisory leadership styles and adopt the style that is appropriate in their current situations, to differentiate between a leader and a manager, to Indentify the basic supervisory leadership skills that they need to acquire or improve on, and to adopt the 7 habits of highly effective people.
