On June 13, 2023, SEAMEO QITEP In Science (SEAQIS) and SMP Darul Ulum 1 Unggulan renewed their collaborative efforts to introduce innovative education in Jombang Regency. Building on their partnership since 2019, the primary focus remains on the successful implementation of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education at SMP Darul Ulum 1. Notably, the school has achieved remarkable accomplishments, including international competition victories and prestigious awards. This collaborative initiative is set to continue for the next three years, with a specific emphasis on the effective management of STEM School Programmes.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SEAQIS and SMP Darul Ulum 1 Unggulan marks a significant milestone in their ongoing partnership. The MoU was formally signed by Dr Indrawati (Director of SEAQIS) and Mr Mashudi, the Principal of SMP Darul Ulum 1 Unggulan. This momentous event was witnessed by prominent figures, including representatives from the education office and the Board of Directors of Darul Ulum. In addition, the signing ceremony also provided a platform for enthusiastic teachers and students to showcase their impressive STEM projects, further highlighting the collaborative spirit.
Drs KH Muh. Iqbal Hasyim, the Chairman of Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School’s Board of Directors, conveyed the institution’s unwavering commitment in collaborating and pursuing knowledge. He emphasised the importance of expanding partnerships beyond SMP Darul Ulum 1 Unggulan to embrace other educational units within the Darul Ulum Education Institution. The ultimate goal is to elevate the overall quality of education and create a more promising future for all stakeholders. With this renewed collaboration between SEAQIS and SMP Darul Ulum 1 Unggulan, the stage is set for educational advancement, inspiring students and setting new benchmarks in the field of education.
