Enhancing Education Quality: Toba Regency Collaboration with SEAMEO Centres

Education plays an essential role in developing and enhancing a nation’s quality. Education is a catalyst that sets students into individuals who are ready to compete in the rapidly evolving world of the 21st century. Therefore, in an effort to elevate the level of education, Kabupaten Toba has established strategic collaborations with several SEAMEO Centres.

On Saturday, 9 September 2023, this collaborative effort was formalized by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the SEAMEO CECCEP Jayagiri Office, located in West Bandung Regency. Toba Regency, in its pursuit of educational excellence, has established partnerships with four prominent SEAMEO centres: SEAQIS, SEAQIL, SEAQIM, and CECCEP. These collaborative entities have combined their efforts to enhance the quality of education by utilising their respective areas of expertise.

The MoU signing event coincided with the Inter-Centre Collaboration Meeting, which included seven SEAMEO Centres operating in Indonesia. Notably, this important event was attended by the esteemed SEAMEO Centres Board of Directors, as well as the presence of the Regent of Toba, Mr Poltak Sitorus, and the Head of Education and Sports Service from Toba Regency, Mr Hutajulu.

The official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Toba Regency and the four SEAMEO Centres marks an essential milestone in improving the quality of education in Indonesia. The collaborating parties radiated enthusiasm and high expectations for the future results of this partnership. This collaborative initiative’s primary goal is to establish high-quality educational standards across the disciplines of science, language, mathematics, and early childhood education. Through this dedicated collaboration, the promise of a brighter educational future in this region can be realised.
