SEAMEO QITEP in Science (SEAQIS) proudly led the Indonesian delegation to the 9th Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp & Teacher Workshop, held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, from 10 to 15 June 2025. This prestigious event was organised by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Sichuan Provincial Government.
This year’s camp brought together more than 200 students and teachers from nearly 30 countries, engaging them in a series of thematic activities under the banner “Engineering Builds a Better Future.” The participants explored Sichuan’s innovation ecosystem through scientific visits to institutions such as Sichuan University and the Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, as well as cultural sites including the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project and the Chengdu Museum. The programme also featured cultural exchanges, maker activities, and international collaboration sessions.
The Indonesian delegation was coordinated by Mr Rizwan Darmawan, Head of the Partnership and Publication Division at SEAQIS. The team included Ms Sofi Aristya Hanifa, a science teacher from SMP Darul Ulum 1 Peterongan, and five selected students from East Java:
