Indonesian SEAMEO Centres Collaboration and Seminar

Six SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia met for a program named Indonesian SEAMEO Centres Collaboration and Seminar that was held on 4 – 5 February 2015 in Ministry of Research and Technology and Higher Education, Jakarta. The program was aimed at promoting Centres programs in 2015 as well as exposing Centres’ collaboration through seminar and exhibition. The program was attended by teachers, lectures, practitioners from various provinces in Indonesia.

Prof Ainun Na’im, Secretary General of MoEC, delivered opening remarks

The program was open officially by, Prof Ainun Na’im Ph.D., the Secretary General of Ministry of Education and Culture. The opening ceremony was also attended by directors of SEAMEO Centres and also the Regent of Cianjur Regency. In his remarks, Prof. Ainun Na’im pointed out on the importance of Information and Information Technology in education nowadays. He stated that through ICT, quality education can be widely spread in remote area.

Like with the other visitors, Prof Ainun Na’im accompanied by Ir Ananto Kusuma Seta, Ph.D., the Head of Bureau of Planning and International cooperation, and also Dr Gatot Hari Priowirjanto, SEAMOLEC Director also visited the exhibition booth of the six Centres including booth of SEAMEO QITEP in Science. They were briefed by Dr. Indarjani, the Deputy Director for Programme of SEAMEO QITEP in Science, regarding current Centre’s activities as well as the science kits displayed in the booth.

On the second day, SEAMEO QITEP in Science, represented by Dr. Indarjani, Mr Reza Setiawan and Ms Eka Danti Agustiani, presented the programmes and activities of the Centre especially about the IBSE program in which becomes the niche of the Centre since the approval of Second Five-Year Development Plan.
