The STEM Learning Training for junior high school teachers at the Indonesian STEM School Community had been conducted from 2 to 12 February 2022. This training was attended by 49 science teachers from junior and senior high school / MA, as well as one participant from higher education. There were synchronous and asynchronous sessions in this training.
The first synchronous session was carried out online from 2 to 4 February 2022. This training was officially opened by Dr Indrawati as the Director of SEAQIS, which was continued with the activity’s orientation and material presentation. The materials provided by the speakers are the trend and issue of science learning, STEM learning in the curriculum (K13 and prototype), STEM characteristics, material analysis in STEM projects, STEM learning model, STEM learning implementation in science classes, and STEM learning assessment.
In the material analysis session, the participants had to complete the task in identifying the potential topic or project which was presented using STEM learning. Moreover, they had to write down several aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics integrated in that STEM project and describe the project plans.
The training was continued with the asynchronous session (5 to 9 February 2022), where the participants were asked to do the task given by the speakers. The participants then re-joined through online platform to continue the synchronous session from 10 to 12 February 2022 and presented the project plans that had been made.
