SEAMEO QITEP in Science (SEAQIS) is once again trusted by Indonesia Overseas Alumni (IOA) in supporting the teacher improvement program for teachers. IOA held a training with the title of Training of Professional and Pedagogical Competency Improvement for Elementary Teachers in the Contents of Mathematics Subjects in Kejajar District, Wonosobo and Batur District, Banjarnegara, Dieng, Central Java, Indonesia. The training conducted for 3 groups starting from 23 – 31 August 2019.
SEAQIS provided facilitators in this training, namely: Mr Asep Syarif, Dr Sandi Budi Irawan, Mr Surahman, Mr Nurrohman, Mrs Yanti Mulyati, Mr Asep Saefudin, Ms Rosiana Mufliva, and Mr Gunawan Anggia Rahman. There were also evaluators to assist in the technical affairs of the training, namely Mr Gunawan Muhammad, Mr Lukman Nulhakim, and Mrs Lintang Ratri Prastika.
The number of participants was around 60 people for each group, so the total number of participants is around 240 people.
Mrs Tanti Sugiharti Singgih, IOA’s Executive Director felt impressed with the facilitators who were able to deliver the material in a very interactive and enjoyable way so that the participants were enthusiastic about participating in the training and easily understood the material. Accompanied by various group activities by using drawing, scissors, folding media, the training process became even more interesting.
After attending this training, it is hoped that elementary school teachers in the Dieng area can have a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and obtain a variety of learning media and how to deliver material to students. So that eventually students become more enthusiastic about learning and they can have the ability to think critically, innovatively, and being the problem solver that benefits their lives in the future.
