COVID-19
General Info
Stop the spreading
What is Corona Virus Disease 2019?
Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread to almost all countries over the world. The virus, which is transmitted between humans very quickly, causes disorders of the respiratory system, severe lung infections, to death. This situation forces people to take actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The most common actions are social distancing, physical distancing, strengthening the immune system, and reducing activities outside the home.
This situation has rapidly impacted many aspects of our life. Education is also affected by the emergence of this virus. Ministries of Education in various countries have taken steps in every school and university to conduct learning from home and temporarily stop the teaching and learning process in schools and universities that are involving many people so that they are at risk of being exposed to this virus. As a substitute for the teaching and learning process that must continue to run, the government requires to conduct a learning system online.
SEAMEO QITEP in Science (SEAQIS), as a Regional Centre focusing on science education in Southeast Asia, has conducted and prepared programmes to address this issue. The programmes reflect the Centre’s commitment to enhance science education quality in the region even in difficult circumstances.
