SEAQIS In Service Training 2 for Head of Science Laboratory Candidates in Kerinci Regency


To improve the quality of science education in Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province, SEAQIS cooperated with the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Kerinci Regency to provide training for Head of Science Laboratory. The first stage of the In-Service training was held from 13th to 18th December 2017 in Sungai Penuh City, Jambi, and the second stage of the In-Service training has just been conducted on the 19th to 22nd of April 2018 in Mahkota Hotel, Kerinci Regency. Between the first and second In-Service training, participants conduct an on-the-job learning (OJL) by completing 10 tasks that have been given. The training was attended by the same participants as the first In-Service training, but, unfortunately, one of the participants did not continue the program. The delegates from SEAQIS for the event were Ms Tati Setiawati, Mr Heri Setiadi and Mr Dian Purnama. This second stage of the In-Service training’s activities were recognised by the Jambi Provincial Office of Ministry of Religious Affairs, and fully supported by the Administrative Board of the Head of Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Aliyah (KKMTs and KKMA) of Kerinci Regency. SEAMEO QITEP in Science covers all the expenses of the resource persons who delivered the materials on the training activity.

An important part of this second training activity is the presentation of the OJL report, it completes the trainee with various compulsory materials. SEAQIS also provides examples for the development of materials on innovative works. After completing all series of the trainings, participants are expected to build and organise all activities in the science laboratory in accordance with the standards outlined in the training. All parties involved in this activity (SEAQIS, Ministry of Religious Affairs of Kerinci Regency, SEAQIS, KKMTs / KKMA, as well as the training participants) expected that the cooperation can expand its scope, not only in the conduct of the Training for Head of Science Laboratory, but also in the conduct of various other activities related to the quality improvement of educators and education personnel in science.
