SEAQIS as a Southeast Asian institution that plays a role in improving the competence of teachers and educational personnel in science has become known not only within the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia but also in Higher Education. This is evidenced by the establishment of cooperation between SEAQIS and the Department of Physics Education, Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) Yogyakarta in improving the competence of students’ prospective teachers through education and training activities.
“Our department got an A in accreditation score of higher education, so we have to provide additional supplies to our students through various training, one of them is training from SEAQIS” said the Head of Physics Education Studies Program UAD, Mrs. Dian Atha Kesumaningrum, at the signing of MoU between SEAQIS and UAD.
Conducted in Campus 4 UAD, Yogyakarta, Indonesia on 26-27 April 2018, this training themed STEM Learning and Science Laboratory Management and attended by 85 participants who are undergraduate and post-graduated of Physics Education students.
Mr. Reza Setiawan, M.T., Mr. Yudi Yanuar, M.T., Ms. Lintang Ratri Prastika, M.Si., and Mr. Yamin Winduono, M.Pd. from SEAQIS was assigned to be a facilitator in the training.
Through the training of STEM Learning and Management of Science Laboratory, it is expected that the prospective teacher will have a picture of the current developing learning trends in trained students’ 21st century skills, as well as understanding how the administration process in managing science laboratories in schools.
