SEAQIS started its Partner School Programme (PSP) by implementing a STEM learning programme in its partner school. The programme was started with an In-House Training (IHT) on STEM Learning Implementation conducted in SDIT Cendekia, Purwakarta, on 17 – 18 February 2021. This IHT was the first stage of the PSP cycles.
The IHT participants were Kindergarten, Primary, and Lower Secondary School teachers under the YASRI Foundation. This was the follow-up action of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SEAQIS and YASRI.
The IHT was opened officially by Dr H Agus Muharram, the head of YASRI Foundation. The opening was also attended by Mr Zuhe Safitra, the Head of Partnership and Publication Division of SEAQIS, and Mr Andri Purwanugraha, M.Pd., the principal of SDIT Cendekia. During the opening, Dr Agus Muharram encouraged all the participants to be actively involved in every activity since STEM Learning is an excellent learning approach.
The participants were divided into two classes and facilitated by Dr Poppy Kamalia Devi and Mr Dian Purnama, Mr Lukaman Nulhakim, and Mr Heri Setiadi. During this two-day programme, participants learned about the STEM model that can be applied in the classroom. They learned about exploratory immersion, introductory immersion, partial immersion, and full immersion. The participants then were required to develop a STEM Programme that will be applied in their class. The next step of the programme is the assistance stage that will be carried out in March.
