Wednesday, 09 June 2021- SEAQIS held an Open Journal System (OJS) Management Workshop from 7 to 9 June 2021, opened officially by Dr Indrawati, the Director of SEAQIS. This workshop was aimed to support the management system of SEAQIS’ journals. It is at the end will lead to improving the quality of scientific works from science teachers and education personnel in the region.
During the opening ceremony, Ms Lili Indarti, the Deputy Director for Administration, stated that this year SEAQIS is continuing to make the journals accessible to the public, especially teachers. Therefore, it needs to be published online. Dr Indrawati also raised the same issue during her opening remarks. She stated that SEAQIS could be said to be the most distended institution in journal development and publishing compared to the other 7 SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia. Still, with the holding of this workshop, SEAQIS’ journal can be launched in July during the celebration of the SEAQIS anniversary.
In this workshop, SEAQIS invited Relawan Jurnal Indonesia (RJI) as resource persons. The RJI is a forum to provide or exchange ideas regarding electronic journal management in universities, research bodies, and others throughout Indonesia.
The Open Journal System Management Workshop was attended by representatives of SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia either through online or offline modes. In this workshop, participants learned how to manage the OJS and prepare a journal to be accredited and indexed.
