Strengthening Merdeka Belajar, Seven SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia Collaborated with the University of Mataram and Mataram Local Government

Solo, 1 December 2021 — In conjunction with the Inter-Centre Collaboration Meeting (ICCM) on 1 to 3 December 2021, SEAMEO CENTRES in Indonesia (SCI) strengthens the cooperation strategy by collaborating with the University of Mataram (UNRAM) and the Mataram local government. Located in the Best Western Premier Hotel, Solo, the 4th ICCM was the last routine meeting of the  SCI in 2021, to coordinate programmes and budgets.

The event was officially opened by Ms Yunitasari, Coordinator of Foreign Cooperation, representing the Head of the Bureau of Public Relations and Cooperation, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. “I hope, this ICCM can increase collaboration among Centres and strengthen cooperation to improve the quality of education in Indonesia and Southeast Asia”, said Yunitasari.

The seven SCI started the discussion with the topic of budget absorption for the Fiscal Year 2021 and Financial Strategy for 2022, followed by a discussion on the plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between seven SCI and the Ogan Ilir Regency Government, the Ogan Komering Ulu Regency Government, and the South Sumatera Government.

On the second day, the SCI team had a discussion with representatives of UNRAM and the Mataram City Education Office regarding the follow-up to cooperation between them. Regarding the cooperation between SCI and Unram, on this occasion, both parties agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding and Memorandum of Agreement.

The SCI team also discussed the training guidelines that will become the standard for organizing activities for all Centres.

A total of 60 participants consisted of the Board of Directors, Heads of Division, managers and staff, and invitees from the Unram.

The presentation on Human Resource Management delivered by Ms Dyah Ismayanti, M.ED., Head of the Human Resources Bureau, Kemdikbudristek, became the final session of this activity. The 4th ICCM was officially closed by Dr Indrawati, Director of SEAMEO QITEP in Science, on December 3, 2021. She expressed her gratitude to all parties who have made this activity a success.
