Assessment, Literacy, and Numeracy Workshop for Grade Sixth Teachers in Bogor District

 

Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology has changed the National Exam system into Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) and Character Survey since 2021. The assessment consists of two minimum competencies for students, which are literacy and numeracy. In order to enhance teachers’ abilities in measuring students’ cognitive learning achievement for literacy and numeracy based on Kurikulum Merdeka, Bogor District Education Office along with SEAMEO QITEP in Science conducted a face-to-face workshop entitled “Assessment, Literacy, and Numeracy Workshop” at Grand Pesona Hotel, Caringin. This workshop was held from 2 to 4 June 2022 and attended by 100 participants who are the grade sixth teachers in Bogor District. 

On the first day, Mr Yudi Yanuar explained about “Assessment Policy in Kurikulum Merdeka” which was oriented to the quality of learning. This orientation is planned as the educational quality mapping instrument in all schools, madrasah, and equivalency programmes for primary and secondary school levels. The assessment of literacy and numeracy consists of knowledge, skills, as well as students’ behaviour. In addition, learning levels and elements in literacy and numeracy questions are also explained in this assessment. On the second and the third days, Mr Heri Setiadi and Ms Lintang Ratri Prastika discussed about “Literacy and Numeracy Assessment” which could support teachers in developing various assessment instruments for literacy and numeracy.
