SEAMEO QITEP in Science (SEAQIS) conducted a training entitled “Strengthening the Competence of Guide Teachers in Teacher Working Group (KKG)” at Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, from 27 to 29 June 2022 which was held face-to-face at BPMP (Balai Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan) Building, West Nusa Tenggara. This training was a follow-up action after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SEAQIS and Mataram Education Office which aimed to increase the competence of Elementary School Guide Teachers in Teacher Working Group (KKG) Mataram for mastering the material, structure, science concepts, as well as science process skills with its implementation in learning.
Mr Muh. Irfan as the Head of BPMP officially opened this training which was also attended by the Head of Manpower Development Division of Mataram Education Office, Ms Liswati and the Director of SEAQIS, Dr Indrawati. Mr Muh. Irfan said that to continue improving the teachers’ assessment in West Nusa Tenggara, his team invited teachers to implement the independent curriculum in their respective schools and will accelerate the opening of learning for Guru Merdeka related to the implementation of Merdeka Belajar.
On the last day, the Head of Mataram Education Office, Mr Lalu Fatwir Uzali, closed this training. In his closing speech, he said that the participants of the training should be able to be good guides for other fellow teachers in accordance with the objectives of this training activity.
