Creating Some Fresh Air through the 2nd ICCM 2024

 

From 9 to 11 May 2024, SEAMEO QITEP in Science, Language, and Mathematics held the 2nd ICCM (Inter-Centre Collaboration Meeting) at the Grand Mercure Hotel, Solo Baru, that covered discussions on joint programmes, staffing, and institutional affairs. This meeting was attended by the Professional Development Centre for Educators of Banten Province, the Head of General Affairs of the Professional Development Centre for Educators of West Java Province, the Head of General Affairs of the Professional Development Centre for Educators of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Province, as well as the Board of Directors and personnel representatives of the three SEAMEO QITEP.

This event started off with the opening remarks from Prof Dr Nunuk Suryani, Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel, Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, who also officially opened the meeting. Subsequently, Mr Temu Ismail, Secretary of the Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel, provided technical directives on the synergy of the priority programmes for Teachers and Education Personnel with the three SEAMEO QITEP, which are climate change education, English training for teachers, as well as literacy and numeracy. Furthermore, directives on the staffing and institutional affairs of the three SEAMEO QITEP were also delivered.

The meeting concluded with an agreement of to-be-executed joint programmes, which are the Governing Board Meeting 2024, training at Sekolah Indonesia Kota Kinabalu Malaysia, and the Computational Thinking Programme. This meeting marked a productive development in the collaboration between the three SEAMEO QITEP for a better education throughout Southeast Asia.
