SEAMEO QITEP in Science (SEAQIS) has successfully conducted a regional training on Earth and Space Science (ESS), Environmental Education for Sustainable Development (EESD) and Science Classroom Supervision (SCS) at Aryaduta Hotel Bandung from 4 to 10 August 2024.
91 participants, consisting of teachers and principals from elementary to high school, participated in this training. 21 of them were participants from Cambodia, Malaysia, Lao PDR, The Philippines, Singapore, Timor Leste, and Thailand.
The training was officially opened and closed by the Acting Director of SEAQIS, Mr Zuhe Safitra. In one of his remarks, he stated that this training was the first regional training to be held face-to-face after the pandemic and simultaneously for three training themes.
In addition to gaining knowledge related to the training theme, participants from various regions in Indonesia and Southeast Asian countries conducted cultural exchange activities in the Cultural Exchange Night. In addition to wearing traditional clothing, participants performed traditional performances typical of their respective regions or countries. Through this activity, participants could get to know each other and appreciate various cultures in Southeast Asia.
