Empowering Saudi Arabia’s SILN Students for a Resilient Future with STEM Challenge 2024

 

The SEAQIS-SILN STEM Challenge Competition 2024 was successfully conducted virtually on 21 November 2024. Organised by SEAQIS in collaboration with Sekolah Indonesia Luar Negeri (SILN) in Saudi Arabia, the event spotlighted young innovators from Saudi Arabia’s Indonesian schools in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Makkah. This year’s theme, “Engineering Solutions for a Resilient Future,” inspired students to tackle real-world challenges through STEM. 

The competition brought together primary, junior high school, and senior high school students, who showcased their engineering skills in three categories: Straw Bridge Challenge for primary school; Strongest Boat Challenge for middle school; and Strongest Building Challenge for high school. Participants were evaluated on their innovation, application of scientific concepts, functionality, and teamwork.  

Highlighting the event’s achievements, first-place winners across categories were celebrated for their outstanding performances. Sekolah Indonesia Riyadh excelled in the Straw Bridge Challenge, Sekolah Indonesia Jeddah won the Strongest Boat Challenge, and Sekolah Indonesia Makkah triumphed in the Strongest Building Challenge. Their innovative solutions and collaborative efforts earned them well-deserved recognition. 

The SEAQIS-SILN STEM Challenge reflects SEAQIS’ commitment to advancing STEM education and nurturing young talents prepared to face global challenges. SEAQIS aims to create a generation that values resilience, sustainability, and innovation, paving the way for a brighter and more robust future.
