SEAQIS Research Grant 2018 (selection and signing of contract)

This year SEAQIS Research Grant (SRG) was re-implemented with the theme of Science Learning with STEM Approach. This annual program aims to be a trigger for teachers to conduct research and write reports, to improve the quality of their learning, competence, and professionalism.

The target of SRG 2018 recipients is the Teachers Associations’ activists in the regions who are participants of the Training on STEM Learning Integration in the Curriculum 2013 implemented by PPPPTK IPA in cooperation with SEAQIS.

A total of 76 proposals were collected, consisting of 17 proposals from secondary science teachers, 20 proposals from high school chemistry teachers, 19 proposals from high school physics teachers, and 20 proposals from high school biology teachers. The proposals were then reviewed by experts from the Indonesia University of Education, namely: Dr. Harry Firman as a reviewer of the Chemistry proposal, Dr. Ida Kaniawati as a reviewer of the Science proposal, Dr. Setiya Utari as a reviewer of the Physics proposal, and Dr. Anna Ratna Wulan as a reviewer of the Biology proposal.

From the result of the reviewed proposals by the experts, 30 proposals were passed and eligible to receive SRG 2018, in which 8 proposals of Science were from Teacher Associations of Ciamis City, Yogyakarta City, Bogor Regency, Sumedang Regency, Banyuwangi City, Dompu Regency, Tasikmalaya Regency and Malang City ; 8 Chemistry proposals were from Teacher Associations of Bima City, Badung Regency, Denpasar City, Semarang City, Cirebon City, Yogyakarta City, Bandung City, and East Lombok Regency; 7 physics proposals were from Teacher Associations of Malang City, Bima City, Semarang City, Denpasar City, Bogor City, Tuban Regency, and Bojonegoro Regency; as well as 7 Biology proposals were from Teacher Associations of Bandung City, East Lombok Regency, Klungkung Regency, Cirebon City, Tasikmalaya Regency, Yogyakata City, and Semarang City.

The approval of SRG 2018 was marked by the signing of the contract between the grantee and the SEAQIS Director on the ability to complete the entire series of SRG 2018 programs. The signing of this contract was held at the closing of the Training on STEM Learning at Marbella Suites Hotel Bandung on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.

This process is an early stage of the SRG 2018 program series. At the end of the program, the grantees are required to disseminate their research results in National or International seminars.
