Nominations now open for the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education

Happy (belated) International Women’s Day!

 

We are pleased to inform you that UNESCO has announced the launch of the call for nominations of the 2021 UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education.

Funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Prize annually awards US$ 50,000 to two laureates to continue their work in providing girls and women the education they deserve.

Together, let’s expand the opportunity to those involved in gender equity in education. We hope you could be part of this first UNESCO Prize of this nature. It is unique in showcasing successful projects that improve and promote the educational prospects of girls and women and in turn, the quality of their lives.

  • Interested candidates meeting the selection criteriaare invited to contact their Permanent Delegations to UNESCO, National Commissions for UNESCO or NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO to participate.
  • The nomination processtakes place via an online platform, accessible to UNESCO Member States and NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO.
  • Deadline to submit nominations is 26 May 2021.
